Recently, my coworker said she debated on whether to have kids because she didn't want the possibility of losing her shapely figure. I don't think a woman who wants to be a mother should ever have to consider that, but, apparently, it's a real issue. I think it's unfair that women have to consider that...
But is it worthy of being frowned upon? Should it not even be considered?
Other people's choices are none of your business. LOL Your co-worker must be young. She will loose her figure whether she has children or not. Aging does that. Unless she has lots of money for surgery. In which case having kids is a non issue anyway.
"frowned upon"? no..heck no. none of your business as Shadow says.
whatever the reason is, if a woman doesn't want to have children she shouldn't. we are not having a shortage of humans, we'll be fine without her children, lol.
I don't care what others choose or why they choose it as long as it's not hurting anyone. And in this case, it certainly isn't. Having children is a very personal choice (as is putting your body through a pregnancy) and it's not for anyone else to decide one's reasons are valid or not.
I think to even debate whether something like this should be "frowned upon" is rather frivolous. Why? Is there a need to judge people? To me, "frowning" upon somebody like that is social coercion.
I don't care for others to be in all my business... but I'll admit that I'd laugh at reasoning because I already know, we're losing it all anyway. She'll either have kids or not. If it's important to her, she'll maintain (or try to attain) her fitness and/or a healthy lifestyle. I think that is a definite consideration to have.

Ladies, mothers... gimme some insight.
None of my business what she thinks... none of yours either!
No one should frown on someone for choosing not to have a child, no matter what the reason. Anyway, she was probably just musing out loud and giving voice to every woman's worry that' she'll turn into a huge fat person after having kids, not giving a genuine reason for not having a child.
