I would like to try living in the Phoenix area. I need some sales experience even if it is working at a mall for the Holidays. If I just pack up and drive down looking for lodging and job next week what are my odds? I have enough cash to live for a couple months with no income.

If you are willing to take that kind of job and have any skills at all - I would say pretty good. Lodging wont be an issue. There are lots of extended stay places (just be careful which neighborhood) if nothing else.

It might be worth the try, if for no other reason than the adventure. Do you have family in the area? That could help some. Do you have a car? That would help some, too.
Also, be sure to leave enough money to return home should things not work out.
Good luck!

I have a car. What neighborhood should I consider? I need something very small but safe.

That's too general of a question, as there are many, many places that could fit that.
What do you do for fun? Are you more into urban or suburban lifestyle? Do you plan on exploring the state in your off time? Any other info? The answers to those questions will help narrow down the search a little.

Look into Tempe, a lot of college kids need a room mate or 2 so that they can spit rent. Look around Mill AVE. and University St. A mile around that crossroad should do it. Any 25 yr old would like Tempe, probably get a job down there as well. Have fun and good luck to ya.
