There are so many car carrier companies out there, I am looking to ship from Long Island
to Goodyear. Has anyone used a reliable company and received a good rate?
I received a couple of quotes in the $1300 range.
TY

Covered or uncovered? $1300 sounds reasonable for a covered carrier.

Is there a big difference if the car is on an open trailer or not? I know price wise it would probably be a couple of hundred dollars more for covered. I know the price quotes a received were for open. I guess the show cars would be covered, but I need to get my leased car down, all in all price is my main goal.

I just got pricing for Phoenix to Chicago....uncovered averaged $1,200..so your price isn't bad.

Just google it and you will find several to choose from, even one place where you can let people bid on the service...I have never used that but it might be interesting to see it.

You know these guys carry as many as 7-8 cars at a time dropping off as they go then do the same thing on the trip home.

There is also rail transporting that is much cheaper going between major cities.

I've shipped both covered and uncovered and while covered can be significantly more expensive (fewer cars per truck) I've had bad luck with uncovered. One car shipped uncovered arrived scratched to hell. People ship cars in open carriers all the time so YMMV.

Uncovered I paid around $700 from Detroit to Phoenix. Covered I paid around $1500 from Atlanta to Phoenix.

The best way to not get screwed would be to try to deal directly with the shipper and not some shady broker. Go to Barrett Jackson's website. They should still have some shippers' contacts on their site.

I used Reliable Carriers to ship my '72 Nova SS from Alabama to Phoenix.
Reliable Carriers, Inc. | Vehicles Taken Seriously.

It was $1.250.00 for an enclosed transport, The Sales person, Dispatcher and even
the driver provided my their personal cell numbers to be in constant contact

There's a reason they provide transport to the major auctions...Accountability

Big orange trucks? Yes, they're a first rate operation.

It was so easy it was almost scary

I've had quite a few friends that use them often, so I did not even shop around and I was
treated like a major account...They ARE CAR PEOPLE

They are very good, but the top carrier is Horseless carriage out of New Jersey, they haul million dollar cars.
