Once the inside of my house starts hitting 89F, it is usually 90F+ outside. Then its time.

Your house hits 89 degrees when it is in the 90's outside? You need some work on the insulation, windows, etc. as that isn't normal.

Hey, Cactus, I'm seriously hoping you don't have any babies or dogs in there!

Nope!
Some of us love the heat! That's why we are here, right?

Interesting question, RoofTopPigeon . . .

For the most part, I have a feeling you already know the answer. It is not so much the temperature as it is the humidity. I have no problem with the windows / doors open and the fans blowing when the temperature is in the 80's or 90's as long as the humidity is in the teens or single digit. I actually feel I sleep better with fresh air than the A/C stuff until the humidity bumps up into the 30% or higher range.

Welcome and wait about a month or so and you'll know what single digit humidity feels like.

I don't care what the temp outside is. I never let it go higher than 75 degrees year round in my condo except for during the day when I'm at work. Then it is 77 degrees. I have animals and want to make sure they are comfortable.

I keep the temp at 76 at night because I need it cool to sleep. I leave it at that until 3 pm to 6 pm (my low rate time with the SRP). At that time I turn it to 82. I was turning the AC off in the morning until I found that it took more energy to lower it to 76 later in the evening than it did to leave it that almost all day.
