Did anyone else see this accident? It was at night between 8-9 pm. There was a white truck and a maroon van that had a head-on collision in the intersection. I got out of my car to see if there was any help I could give, but got back in and went back on my way when I saw everyone getting out and halfway ok.

I was just wondering if anyone else saw this. It's the worst accident I have witnessed out here upclose.

I didn't see it, and I'm assuming both vehicles were newer ones with air bags, which is why you saw everyone getting out and "halfway ok". If this happened 30 years ago, the chances of some or all individuals walking away from the head-on collision would not be in their favor.

That is so not lost on me... I couldn’t believe how well intact the cab of the truck was after such a collision

Well, trucks have a more rugged construction, but I also know that since.. maybe the mid 1990s(???), automobile manufacturers have intentionally built their vehicles with a so-called "Crumple Zone" in the front and rear sections for the purpose of reducing the amount of impact energy generated in a crash.

I saw one like that on 60 about a month ago. I drove by minutes after it happened, as folks who'd pulled over to help were just getting up to the cars involved. I was amazed that everyone was able to get out of the damaged cars, as the two main ones looked like the vehicles were going to have to be totaled. Both the truck and the worst hit car appeared to be newer models. Both were totaled, truck was completely overturned but driver walked away.

What impresses me more though is the people willing to pull over and offer help. Some cities, you don't see that. I was happy to see that people here are willing to help. Go Phoenix!

Yep, I see that quite a bit around Arizona: people willing to help.
