I know it's a long shot, but I thought I'd ask.

I'm looking for someone knowledgeable about old word processing, specifically Word Perfect. It was still used by law offices long after most of us switched to Microsoft Word.

I'd be interested in either a professional or even just a hobbyist. Anyone?

Never used Word Perfect but it's still in production. There is bound to be a fanboy site somewhere in the vast interweb of Google machines.

I started out on the Wangs at the Pentagon. WP was bought by Novell and they were practically laughed at for investing in fat client computing..desperation to compete with Comrade Gates. People who want me to tinker with obsolete junk must pay first.

Personally, I use Word Perfect on my "burner" Smartphone while eating snacks on the patio at the Nee House!

JUST kidding!!

Haven't used WordPerfect since the mid 90s.

I started out on the Wangs, too, where you got your line all set, then hit enter and the line appeared, then went to next line. We thought it was the best thing ever! Word Perfect was a thousand times ahead of that, for all it has been replaced by Word, which uses most of the commands originally devised by Word Perfect. They are not that different.

I so much preferred WordPerfect to MS Word. So much more user friendly. The company I worked for way back when was a consulting firm and because we had to bend to the whims of our clients who were all using Word, we had to switch over. Although I have fond memories of WordPerfect, I bet I probably wouldn't remember how to use it now that I am an expert Word user of over 25 years.

Check the Business teachers at a local high school. Word Perfect may well be their state of the art.
