Need someone to "dig" ditches on 5 acre plot in NM. Ditches to be used for "irrigation", that is to say, intend on placing trees/bushes in ditches so that when monsoons come - plants will get more wash runoff....What kind of person could dig these ditches? I'm assuming backhoe/bobcat needed? Ditches don't have to be deep - 1 to 2 ft max? and about 15 ft apart.....some graded out very wide but low (less than 2 ft).... Do not want natural desert area vegetation unnecessarily "denuded" as the whole idea is to work with the soil passively to grow more ....denuding the surrounding areas will just let the monsoon washes run "wild" in, around, over my newly planted irrigation ditches......Any ideas? What type of "pro" do I look for? Does the person need to be bonded and all that? Do I need a permit? Even if it's just "passive" digging - here and there on my own land????? Thanks.
