As I was strolling with a friend, he suddenly said, "Rosemary!" and pulled a sprig off a plant by the sidewalk. He said that it's real rosemary and grows easily, and even out of control. It was news to me, and I liked the tiny flowers, too.

Do you grow any, and are there any drawbacks I should know about?

I have several in my yard. I would not use the stuff growing in the public areas of our neighborhood as every dog that walks by lifts their leg and pees on it. We do use it from our bush in the back yard.

Love rosemary; really miss it here in the cold midwest. The little blue flowers are pretty, too. Wonderful aroma, of course. Enjoy it!

It's aroma drives me up the wall with allergies. I avoid it like the plague. If you brush up against it the smell will stay in your clothes all day and night.

You'll see a lot of rosemary and lavender in ABQ gardens and yards. I don't know about here. They smell divine after a rain.

Put them in an open space and let them grow. I hate the way they look if trimmed. Low water. More than one variety. Some grow up and some grow out.

We've been growing both rosemary and basil for years. Rosemary is a lot easier to maintain. Grasshoppers love basil.

Has always been popular here. The dogs would come iin from the back yard smelling of it all the time when I was a kid. Very easy to grow. I just don't happen to like the smell, so you won't find it in my yard now.
