So stylists have taken a hit in this economy. We need to get together and help each other out. I've been studying the salons in the phoenix area and trying to fill the best salon for me.
I've been doing hair for about 2 years. I've worked at two salons in the phoenix area and did not have good luck with the owners and the salons. They were new salons and had too many new stylist taking too few new
clients. The owners made me believe that there would be me or one other person taking new clients, only to find out there were 3 or 4. These salons did not have enough new clients to support that many stylists and it
showed in the pay. I would love to find a commission salon in the valley that is busy! Do I go to a salon that is high end or to one the is less pricey? I really want to be grow my skills and make an actual living, where do I go?

but I do know most women I know are cutting back on hair expenses, the prices are crazy at most places other then a super cut or something. I think the upper end places are seeing less clients and lots are going to more resonable priced places. Maybe you would make more money in a busy place that has more affordble prices then a high end salon with to few clients to go around.

Thank you for your thoughts; I'll keep them in mind when I'm looking at salons. I did look at Arizona Hair Company and there were 3 stylist sitting around and one cutting; thought they would be busier. It makes me believe that more and more women are doing their hair at home.
