Also not helping is that those in construction trades that previously ruled in Arizona will need to go back to school/vocational training/etc in order to catch up with new industry that is moving to Phoenix...i.e. solar construction which is much more technical and complicated compared to framing a house. There will be some hard times for low skilled workers as the economy (especially in manufacturing and construction) becomes more technical and advanced.

I was denied yesterday to be a Substitute Teacher on the West Side. I worked there 10 years ago and have great references. They told me that they were only hiring Subs with previous contract teaching experience. Sheeesh. 180 degree turn from before, when they had signs in front of the school looking for employees. Oh well, glad I got a multi-year supply of dinero, but it does make you wonder. Hell, I'm only looking for a few days a week of employment, and I am childless and my place is paid for. If I had kids to feed and a mortgage; I would be anxious to say the least.
