Great shots, and man those RC planes are something else. They must have big bucks invested in those and really cry when they crash.

So is that USAF #1 an RC model as well?

You can still buy a brand new car for what those jets cost.

Thought I had posted about USAF 1. It's a model that fools a lot of people. I made a poster out of it and that is even more deceiving it you don't pay attention to the background. BTW, the King Kat did crash. Lost servo control and went down in a briar patch. Da rabbit was not so lucky either. He lost all for feet in the deal. So who says rabbit feet are lucky?

Cool The need for speed

They go fast but not far. These guys need a tanker out on the lake to fuel them. Expensive toys for the big boys.

I was wading out in the lake to get an angle for the background you see here. After coming back in to shore I was reminded it was gator mating season

Wish what were taken at the top had came out. Camera got cold and went on strike. It was a very moving experience to see 360° from the top. With a fresh coat of snow and ice. The plan was to ride up and hike down. Now I can be crazy but not crazy enough to slide on solid ice from 14,000 feet up to the bottom. No, not this country boy! My bottom was not created for such foolishness.

I have a computer flying program and it is really easy to take off and to fly all over the world. Its the landings that seems to be my problem. I tend to have more of a quasi controlled crash. I usually end up in the general area of the desired airport though.

I am bumping this to post this picture, just because I'm really excited that it's that time of year in Chicago - when they run the L train ALL decked out for the holidays. I didn't want to be rude and start a whole new thread.

clearly this shot spent some time in photoshop, the view from my apartment window:

i'm in this shot, actually:

one that's a little less artsy fartsy, and shows how much cooler the train looks at night (or in the subway):

thank you for indulging my train geekiness.
