My first try at a moon shot. I have my hands on a 70-200 2.8L for a little while and decided to put it to some more good use:
Waxing gibbous over Philly. Manual 1/80 s, f13, ISO 100, tripod, autofocus (I think). I applied warming filter 81 at 22%, preserving luminosity, during post processing.
Nice photos in this thread everyone, y'all inspired me to try!
Beautiful shot Docindigo!! Love the sharpness. I would love to get my hands on some L glass, if even just for a day...
Thanks! Can you rent lenses in your area? If not, I believe there are some online rental houses that can ship to you. That's how I have what I'm using right now.
I am sure I can find somewhere out here that rents lens. Sadly though my CF card keeps giving me the ERR CF every time I turn my camera on . So I will have to go get a new card first...
Thanks Hntr! Rance how do you like your Bigma? I have been debateing on getting one or something similar.
I like it although it is heavy at 4 lbs! But at 70-500mm it's a good all around for me here in Alaska. It normally runs over a grand...but I picked mine up through Amazon for 950 clams and got free shipping all the way up here!
Seems to work good for shooting the moon!
Seems all you have a different view of the moon than we do here in Alaska. Tonights moonrise on the northern coast of AK.
