In the winter here in Alaska, people set nets under the ice to catch Whitefish, Cheefish, and Burbot. They cut a series of holes in a row and thread the rope to the other end and pull the net through to the other end and anchor them to long poles.
Learn something new everyday! In Calif we can't fish with nets. I think the Native Americans can use nets.
