I used to have this irises in my flower beds near the house, but they kept taking over the beds and crowding everything else out. A few years ago I dug them all up and planted them way in the back along the trails. I've never heard the end of that from my wife, but that's another story.

Anyway, here's a picture of an Iris and a close up shot of some of our bridal veil flowers. That's all we have blooming around here....... and I heard about that too! LOL,

A few 'domesticated' flowers I decided since it was my birthday on the 2nd, I would spend the day learning more on photography. I worked in manual mode and Av mode with bracketing, experimenting with DOF and the bokeh effect...then attempted HDR.

And some not so domesticated wild flowers in my back forest

A belated Happy Birthday, Highland Lady. It appears that you're a fast learner. These photos are wonderful! What kind of metering were you using?

Thank you, PhotogGal . As far as the metering, on the tulips I chose partial metering whilst on the single flowers, I used spot metering. All were shot with the nifty fifty as well as bracketing - three frames each with normal exposure, then 1.5 bump over-exposed and under-exposed with HDR merging in post processing. It's still very new for me but I am a bit pleased with the result; though I am not certain if I will do this often as the time involved post processing is a bit more lengthy than merely resizing and watermarking Still, learning a new tool is always a good thing!

Splendid Shots Cori, you put the birthday to good use!
What software did you use for the HDR processing?
