GREAT shots Gizmo!!! I enjoyed them all, but my particular favorites were the debris in the water and the violin with musicsheet. Both of those are absolutely perfect in B&W. That violin image is also cropped to perfection. Nice work!!
Thank you! Those two pictures were part of my "final project" for a photography class, and I mounted them professionally (which took forEVER). The dirty water, as well as the other b&w water pics, are from Stockton, CA... truly a crappy town overall, which you can see by the water quality. I really love doing black & white photography, and keep saying I'll get back into it - just need to find a good darkroom to use! Anyway, thanks again for the comments...
P.S. The instrument in the picture is actually a viola (common mistake, lol). It was a Bat-Mitzvah gift from my parents, and was built around 1850 in Germany... I still have it, even though I play on a bigger instrument now. It's just too gorgeous to sell, and I hope to pass it along to my future child one day.
LOL I should have noticed that was a viola, stupid me. I used to play the cello way back in the day. Nice pictures anyhow! Keep em coming!
Well, as a cellist you should know better!! LOL. I actually wanted to play cello instead, but it's just such a pain to lug around! Plus my mother is a violist, and for some reason I always follow in her footsteps (we're also both librarians).
I'll upload more pictures tonight, once I get them off my desktop... speaking of which, do you know the most efficient way to move digital photos? I tried burning a data-CD, but it filled up after like 100 pictures (and I have thousands!). Is there a way to compress them, like a zip file, or would it be better to use my portable flash drive??
I would move to Maine, but I am not sure I would like the cold winters. The coast up that way is awesome. Great picture of the coast. Thanks for sharing.
I've very much enjoyed looking at all the pictures. I'm not a photographer, but I like to play around with pictures for my family. I like to use filters and effects. Here is one from Christmas that I've been working on.
Great job on those. I have only had my Photoshop for a couple months now. I am still learning how to work everything. It is amazing how much the program can do. I am familar with fixing flaws and alot of other stuff but there is still alot I have yet to try with it.
