Canon Powershot A590 Seen them listed for 149.00 lately
They're $109 right now on Amazon and I have one plus accessories in the "cart" ready to purchase. That's the one I've chosen and I've read tons of reviews. It seems like a great little camera for the price.
After killing two Sony Cyber Shots (both due to lense locking up, not worth it to fix), I am in the market for a new digital point and shoot. Main uses will be family vacations & capturing three kids under age five in action, inside and outside in bright light (Texas!)
Other criteria:
7+ megapixels
movie clips w/sound
durable...we're prone to dropping cameras!
good for capturing action
self-stabilizing
under $200
available on Amazon.com
intuitive usability - I liked the Cyber Shot for its ease of use.
Small, fits in a pocket
Have looked at Panasonic Lumix, Nikon Coolpix, and Canon Powershot.
Kodak Easyshare M1033!It's under $200 and it's a dream. I checked it out at the store and it's amazing. It takes very good pictures and the video mode is great!! It actually takes video in 720p High Definition! It's no joke, it's no lie. It works GREAT. Check out this video of the camera taken in video mode with 720p HD on youtube.
New City City at night - Another good video example of the video mode at night without ANY light.
Oh and make sure that you press "watch in high-quality" to see the full quality. I'm telling you this camera is the real deal and I plan on getting it very soon!
I purchased the Canon Powershot A590IS a month ago for $119. Quite thrilled with it and recommend it.
I received the Canon A590IS today and love it. Of course, I am just beginning to play with it, so nothing posted with it, but I can tell already there is a big difference between 8 MP and 3.2 MP. And the price was right too.
I had a Kodak easy share piddly widdly 3.2 MP with no zoom. So many good shots were just too far away and came out too small.
