I was browsing Google Earth, and went into street view at the corner of Southpointe and Morganza Rds, in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania.

In the street view, there is a huge house. It's beautiful, surrounded by trees. When I zoomed out, the satellite view showed NO HOUSE!

I do not know when the street view picture was taken, but the satellite view was taken July 2010.

Does anyone know what happened to that lovely house?

Approx. address would be 168 Morganza Rd. Canonsburg, PA.

Thank you in advance for satisfying my curiosity.

I don't know for sure but there was a previous thread not long ago about homes on Morganza that were to be demolished to make way for highway construction. Oh, the price of progress!

satellite views are much more up to date than street view pictures. i don't know about canonsburg, but the pittsburgh street view pictures are from the summer of 2007.

This is an epidemic in Pittsburgh -- buildings that aren't there anymore. When I think about all the historic buildings along Rt 28 that have (and are being) demolished, I cringe -- canal houses from the 1850s and older. Yikes.

How very sad that all the historic places are being demolished. What happens to us when we lose our history?

We need to make it easier for people from Cranberry Twp. to drive their SUVs around!

That intersection had traffic signals installed about a year or two ago. They are present on the satellite image but not in the street view so the street view is definitely older. Pretty cool house though, I drove out of Southpointe countless times and don't even remember noticing it there.

What is Winky's? I am not from that area, in fact, never even visited your nice state of Pennsylvania.
