Not as old as some of the mystery pics, but interesting nevertheless. Taken by my dad.

I sure miss the old Three Rivers Stadium. It was so much better than the new one. I like the baseball stadium though. Just wish they would have kept Three Rivers. It was one loud place which was a great advantage. No advantage in the new place. Quiet as a church mouse.

Awesome! Do you have a Flickr or something where we can view all these old photos?

Are you serious?
I have been to Steeler games at Heinz Field and it can be extremely loud.
The players often comment about the wonderful crowd noise!.

As someone who lives three blocks from Heinz, I can assure you that it's far from quiet. If I have my window open, I can hear the cheers from plays before I see them on the television.

The uprights in the endzone facing the river is a huge advantage. Most kickers aren't used to kicking in those conditions.

Last game I went to couple years ago (AFC championship during the Super Bowl win year) was very loud. Might not have been as loud in the early seasons, but it's loud now.

No offense, but you folks just don't know the difference because you haven't been to countless games at Three Rivers. It was WAY LOUDER. Open end stadiums are not very loud. It is a shame, because our home field advantage is nothing like it used to be. Take it from someone that has been to countless games at both. Three Rivers was one loud place. It was a bowl, not some open end stadium.

Is there a model of the original fort? And why is the fort gone now?

Yeah, the poor Steelers have really been suffering in Heinz Field.
