Did anyone hear about this?

Controversial billboard depicting contaminated water comes down - News - The Times-Tribune

Sort of scary that information is being suppressed.

And we're not supposed to be worried about our region's drinking water?

Phew, if you only knew. In the past year I've seen:

- A story about a local radio host questioning the safety of drilling. He was thrown off the air and replaced by 2 pro-drilling shills who openly admitted that their paychecks come from drilling companies.
- Articles released that say how safe drilling is, then after doing research on the author you find out that they're connected to the industry.
- Shills on social networking sites spreading misinformation to save face
- Anti-drilling websites being attacked with cease and desists among other things....
- This article

What's even more screwed up is that if you have the power and money to rape the land, spread propaganda, and crush opposing views no one can stop you from doing so. I wouldn't be surprised if we see some shills show up on this very forum.

Both sides play the game....it's equally disturbing at the lengths those against natural gas drilling will go to paint the industry as a whole as a vile earth destroying monster. I'm sick of hearing about that stupid Gas Land film that these groups try to get played everywhere with no care about the facts in it.

Shale drilling is here to stay, and yes the gas companies should be held to high environmental standards but mud slinging vitriol from either side & crazy conspiracy theories are just childish.

The point in this specific case is, if these people's water supply was destroyed by drilling then by all means tell everyone about it through a billboard, but dont automatically jump on the industry for the bill board's disappearance with 0 evidence to such a charge

Next time I go up to Venango I should take some photos to show people that what happened Gas Land isn't some tall tale. I have first hand proof that shale drilling contaminates water.

Yeah, I heard about that.

It can hardly be "Oh, we don't accept controversial ads" because otherwise they would have rejected it before they put it up. A-holes.

This is the first I've heard of Gas Land and I own property in Venango. Do you have any links about it? I couldn't find anything via google.

Gasland: A film by Josh Fox

Did you receive any letters from any drilling companies?
