I think the City district is likely to stay out of this program if at all possible (they would lose control of their finances).

Looking at how they have been with their finances, they may want to consider anyone else handling them. Of course looking at this program, it might even get worse.

The City district has gone something like 11 years without having to raise taxes. They've managed that through a combination of aggressively controlling costs (including closing excess schools, cutting staff positions, and debt restructuring) and getting outside funding.

One thing for sure, they are dumping buildings left and right. I am still sad over the real Schenley. That was something to be proud of. Peabody looked like a prison. Reizenstein sure is a dump of a place. Where are kids going these days? That Reizenstein building? What a hole. Hope they at least fixed the basketball courts in the back. They were a joke. I do like the sports fields right there though. That is at least nice.

If I remember correctly, Reizenstien has been (or will be) sold to the Bakery Square people for the next phase of that project.

I don't think PPS accepted the bid they got on the Schenley building?

Right on both counts, with the ground for rejecting PMC's bid on the Schenley building being that it was too low.

They are mentioning asbestos, so we all know what is going to happen. The excuse is already there, so it is a matter of time until they tear it down. They planted the seed that works every time.

No, they want to sell it, just for more than PMC offered.
