What private school is top rated in greater Pittsburgh area? I am thinking of buying a house and private school rating might dictate what area I might buy a house in.

Thanks in advance.

Winchester Thurston, no doubt.

Winchester Thurston School

The Shadyside Academy is another one (not to be confused with the neighborhood called SHADYSIDE, though)...

Pittsburgh only has a handful of "elite" private schools. Besides the three that have been mentioned, the other one is Sewickley Academy. Not sure about the rankings or about which one is best. St. Edmunds in Squirrel Hill is another one but that only goes up to 8th grade.

In this area the public schools are better than the private schools, I know in other parts of the country it is the reverse. Maybe start looking at school districts first before private schools.
