As for the article, Pittsburgh is grouped with a pair of trendy and fast-growing cities in the Pacific Northwest. The weather doesn't seem to make them inferior places to live. Quite frankly, I think most people who complain about cloudy weather deserve a kick in the ass. SAD is the new gluten sensitivity: Most of the people who think they have it, don't, and they need to shut the **** up.

On a related note, I have never figured out why so many people in western Pennsylvania think they're special and seemingly the only ones who go through these things either.
I miss the dude. he was such a jerk he was a pathetically funny troll. There was a fantastic This American Life episode about Internet trolls recently, with one who reformed and explained why he did it. Interesting insights into the duplicate troll on here.

SAD is undoubtedly the new gluten free. Most of Northern Europe must have it as they see a lot less sun than Pgh in winter. How have they survived all these centuries? A miracle ...

Seriously, you know what makes the trolls come back ? You talking about them. These are people that need attention, need recognition - even if they are recognized as trolls and idiots. Please stop talking about them in public.
Yac.

Will check out that This American Life episode. Would be interesting!

Am shamelessly stealing this line: "the new gluten free." Hilarious!
I do think that some people have SAD and there are others that feel like they have it but it's more a sensitivity or dislike of gray skies than clinical SAD.

Yep, people who whine incessantly about cloudy skies are huge wimps... this is a FACT.

You're right. Not sure why it makes such a big difference especially if it's not raining outside or you're doing something that keeps you inside almost all day.

Aside from the frigidness of the last two winters, I almost feel as we have had a lot more sunshine than the usual (not saying the sun had helped in an actual warming event). Maybe the stuck nearby Arctic high pressure is heavily influencing this?
