Does the park offer lessons? We've never snowboarded before and wanted to try it out over the holiday vacation. I cannot find info on lessons and I'm wondering if they are offered.

LOL! You won't be snowboarding around here anytime soon. Hard to snowboard without snow. You might want to hit one of the local golf courses though. Most are doing record business for this time of year.

A few years ago some friends and I went and they did offer intro ski lessons. Not sure about snowboarding though.

Yes, they do offer snowboard lessons, as well as rentals. I have no idea as to the size of the snowboarding instruction staff, however, so it is probably worth a call to verify that the ski school has a snowboard instructor available. It may also be worth asking if they have group lessons (they do for skiing; no idea for boarding).

Boyce is a great resource for learning skiing/boarding -- much closer and much, much, much cheaper than Seven Springs / Hidden Valley. Now all we need is some snow....

True enough -- Forbes is right down the road, as is UPMC East. When my wife broke her leg at Seven Springs last year, it was a very, very long drive back to Passavant. Fortunately, I managed to get her into the Goggle for an anesthetic before the long drive back.

7springs will be open this week for sure. probably tues or wed will be opening day. With the temps coming up this week its hard to say if they will make it past the weekend after christmas. if the rain is minimal, i dont see them closing.

boyce will have no problem getting open as well but not sure if they plan to do so. Boyce has a very good snowmaking system that is actually more efficient than 7springs. ( same technoalpin system as hidden valley)
