The original article posted show a clear intention to use questionable (probably criminal) business ethics to achieve growth. A company which wants to use dirty business practices in not being picked on. I would expect a major purge of high level Uber management in the near future.

You might be correct in what you say, but a few bad stories out of really a huge amount of employees aren't nearly enough for someone like me. You keep falling for the media, I will only understand statistics because numbers are the only REAL thing we have left. You do know Uber is a huge international company, right? I think they have over 6,000 employees that aren't even drivers. Imagine adding drivers.
The article speaks for itself. Uber clearly is willing to use unsavory business tactics to get ahead. Bigger organization than Uber have come crashing down. Uber needs to purge most of its senior management and replace them with ethical managers.

it directly starts with the ceo though with the tone at the top. who is going to remove him? he has been proven as the root of the problem pretty much. can't really do much in a non-public company

Except this is a company which is pricing it product well below cost. That means they will have to have cash flow support. That could dry up if they continue to engage in unsavory business practices especially if there are charges filed.

good for them, it's not like the opposition wasn't willing to use unsavory business tactics. greyball appears to use public information.

Yes, it's pretty ingenious to flag public officials using publicly available information.

The funny thing is that I was pointing out how Uber had an unfair market advantage years ago, and people here didn't want to hear it, they loved having a cheaper/better option to Yellow Cab.

Uber is the perfect example of how burdensome regulation is not only completely unnecessary, but counterproductive. Uber has proven beyond any doubt that cab/ride sharing services do not need to be heavily regulated.

I agree we over regulate business like this and most every business. However, that does not excuse Uber from being willing to use whatever dirty tactic they choose to compete and to operate their business. I still expect we will see an ugly high profile case where several people are killed while using Uber. Also, Uber cannot charge rates below cost forever. How competitive will they be when they try to set rates which allow them to make a profit?

"Dirty tactics" and big business go hand in hand.

When your competition is incompetent, raising prices isn't a big deal.

Some of their competition is not "incompetent" and not all big business operates the way Uber does.

"Some" is the key word.

Right. Not "all", but many.
