Fawn Township is an undeveloped rural township located in the extreme Northeast of Allegheny County. It is located close to the greater Tarentum area, sharing Highland S.D. with Tarentum, Brackenridge, and Harrison Townships. It couldn't really be called a "suburb" however, because although there are some individual houses which were built after 1950, there is nothing resembling a subdivision - just individual houses on relatively large plots of land. Very little to nothing in the way of active farms either - just a lot of undeveloped forestland on the hilltops of the township. There are s small number of industrial businesses in the borough, along with a few recreational areas (gun club, campgrounds, and an abandoned mine you can tour), but otherwise not much in the way of commerce.

That's all I have, maybe you guys can chime in.

Great place to bury a body! If you want to live in a very rural area and still be close to Route 28, this is the place. Also has the world famous Tour-Ed Mine and Museum.

One of my co-workers lives in Fawn and works in the city. She and her family like it specifically because it's still pretty rural, no tract housing developments, and they like having a lot of land. Dogs can run without leashes, they can burn things in their yard, and no neighbors within sight. They frequent the Mills development for their shopping.

Frazer Twp. borders Fawn and it`s a similar rural setting as long as you can stay clear of the Pittsburgh Mills. Frazer and West Deer Twp. are both home to Deer Lakes Park. The only things I see burning in yards are wood fires for summer evening gatherings but the OP`s description of Fawn is accurate. One thing not mentioned is that Bull Creek in Fawn Twp. is stocked with trout in the spring and as far as I know, there are no trailer parks.
