So that's an emphatic "No!" to my question, PA and JJ?
Alright - forget about the specific platform. If there was a way for you to track your "carbon footprint" using whatever device you already carry around, and you could buy offsets every day, right from that device, would you?
No, I wouldn't. But that's mostly because I think the whole 'carbon offsets' thing is silly.
I have 10 acres in Louisiana. you send me 100 bucks and I will plant a tree for you....
What a GREAT idea....we should start a company offering to plant a tree(or save one, with no real way of showing we did so...) to help assuage all the guilt felt by those who care....
But don't actually care enough to change their way of living...

There are so many things wrong with that statement.
First off, on what planet would it cost 100 dollars to plant a tree sapling?
Secondly, what does this have to do with the conversation? (are you just frustrated because I don't fit the stereotype that everyone was trying to create that green people don't practice what they preach?)
Third, I would rather let succession take over in Louisiana than man coming in and not letting nature do its own thing. (oh and if you are going to ask me if I do that where I live, no I don't because I live with my parents and my dad would not let me.)

Thats nice. I lived with my parents while in college...
As for what planet? well this one because that is where I live. $100 bucks because that is what I charge. The good news is it will be soaking up CO2 for your entire lifetime.

If you have an Android device, you will soon be able track your carbon footprint and buy carbon offsets right from your phone!
So how 'bout it? How many of you are going to jump at this opportunity to make the world a "greener" place by actually paying for your "excessive" fossil fuel consumption?
Oh I don't hate the planet, I love the planet. I just have some common sense not to spend 100 dollars for someone to plant a tree that I wouldn't even know if it was planted or not. I would much rather see some sustainable logging practices put into place, what about you? (Or are you the one who hates the planet?)
