The federal government needs to just stop spending more and more money that we do not have.

Democrats add teacher money to war funding bill - Yahoo! News (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100630/ap_on_go_co/us_congress_war_funding - broken link)

"WASHINGTON – House Democrats, who are trying to pass a long-stalled war funding bill this week, have attached $10 billion to help local school districts avoid teacher layoffs when schools reopen.

The approximately $70 billion measure is anchored by President Barack Obama's $30 billion request for the troop surge in Afghanistan and contains money for disaster aid accounts, foreign aid and disability benefits for Vietnam veterans exposed to Agent Orange."

What happened to PAYGO? Let the state cut back their budgets and make room in their budgets for education. It's the only way these tax & spenders will learn.

Obama is the president. Dems control the senate and congress. Do it.

I think it is somewhat funny when Obama and his minions blame the mean old republicans for "stopping" the implementation of his agenda. He has a congressional and senate rubberstamp for anything he wants to do, yet he can't accomplish anything. It is amazing.

Perhaps, just maybe, his failures are due to failed policy. A wise man might choose a different course when the orginal plan fails.

It would not work, the policy makers would just see new available money to spend, and we would be right back where we are.

No kidding. This putz was given the presidency with both houses of congress, and super majorities controlled by his party, and he freaking blew it. He did not end the wars, did not close Gitmo, did not save the environment, did not end hunger and poverty, but he did sign a terrible health care bill. The "moment we have all been waiting for" came and went.

Then what? They're still going to be on the payroll. Still going to have to house them and render medical services. And think of all the revenues businesses will be losing thru military discounts. And the airline loss of revenues between the U.S. and the middle east and/or europe.

Screw what the private war profiteers lose. Declare a victory and shut down the war. Spend the money on education or high speed rail or anything else even vaguely useful.

What can you really say? Its all been said before. They dont care. They dont listen.

I dont want to hear another democrat tell me how they care about the middle class. Because they dont. They dont care that their spending is going to cause the middle class to have less money. Which means they will have to work harder. They only care about power and control.
