I am just wondering because it seems that the method to force them to go to electronic record keeping may drive many of them out of the business unless they are too young to have stashed any money.

The thing that makes me wonder most about this little story is that it was the Stimulus Act that provides the method of forcing them into electronic filing. I wonder what all we will find in the Obamacare law now that it is passed as Nancy said we would have to do to find out what is in it.

Who has any idea what yesterday's new law might have in it?

For now it is an incentive if the doctors do use it.

Two of our local doctors are retiring, one a little early because of the health care law but, not just that part.

I've already lost 2 doctors who were anticipating the onset of Obamacare and higher taxes. Both specialists in their fields for at least 30 years. Better for them to retire now and sell their practices with less tax implications than there would be in 2011. The loser.....the patients.

One of the parents of my daughters schoolmates, quit the doctor deal and opened a Waffle House.

Well, they're stupid. Either that, or they're using "the onset of Obamacare and higher taxes" as an excuse, and just wanted to retire. Whose patients are the losers? Theirs!

The future negative effects of policies put into place by this Democratic Congress will make the current recession look like partytime..

Well, the practice I frequent is apparently losing, and anticipating losing, soooo much money that they are actively advertising for new Medicare AND Medicaid patients. I'm sure they're doing so solely on a volunteer basis....

Then thats very different from my friends practice who cant break even.. He has over 100 doctors (psychologists) working under his practice and he's talking about closing his doors because it takes 6 months to get paid and the payments arent enough to cover the costs. Over 90% of his customers are covered by medicaid.

But the fact that they are advertising for government insurance customers can be viewed as one thing , government patients are becoming the only people in town. Seriously, do you think they'd not rather have cash?
