This shows so much that we all need to take note of before they wipe us all out.

Gubmint and how gubmint works

Once upon a time the government had a vast scrap yard in the middle of a desert. Congress said, "Someone may steal from it at night." so they created a night watchman position and hired a person for the job.

Then congress said, "How does the watchman do his job without instruction?" so they created a planning department and hired two people, one person to write the instructions, and one person to do time studies.

Then congress said, "How will we know the night watchman is doing the tasks correctly?" so they created a quality control department and hired two people. One to do the studies and one to write the reports.

Then congress said, "How are these people going to get paid?" so they created two positions: a time keeper and a payroll officer, then hired two people.

Then congress said, "Who will be accountable for all of these people?" so they created an administrative section and hired three people, an administrative officer, assistant administrative officer, and a legal secretary.

Then congress said, "We have had this command in operation for one year and we are $918,000 over budget, we must cutback." so they laid off the night watchman.

You should rename this "How I think the government works."

That is how bureaucracies are created and work.

That is how federal government creates a mess.
100,000 government jobs created in the last year alone, while private citizens loose their jobs and future.

You missed government deciding to poke its nose in places around the world it doesn't belong and attempting to build other nations while ignoring our own.

Really good analogy, you missed increasing taxes to pay for the dead head jobs.

To be more accurate: "How Democratic Administrations Work" or "Who Wrote the Book on Union Work Procedures?".

LOL!

George W. Bush expanded the size of government by 15% and doubled the national debt...but that doesn't count because you watch FAUX!

FDR created millions of government jobs and kept people from starving...I was there.

This scenario is most applicable to military projects and bureaucracy. Where did the scrap come from in the first place? Military surplus of course.

A Republican Administration would have used private contractors at three times the cost. The contractors would have donated at least a quarter of their fees to the campaign funds of the Republican Congress critters that got them the job in the first place.

Democrats would have hired government workers at less cost in the first place and never have fired the watchman but hired enough to protect the place on a 24/7 basis. As the dump is in a deserted western RED state they would have appreciated the jobs and changed to a Blue state. This would have made it a win-win for a Democratic administration.

Probably some of the $150 commode seats or $20 screws which could have been bought at a local Lowe's for 1/10 the price. The biggest waste in our government is from the Pentagon and the reason is that it's been there longer than the others. In an ideal government reps and senators come and go but defense spending lasts forever.

To say nothing of the fact that the constitution doesn't even grant the congress the authority to have a scrap yard.
