Mr. Sowell discusses the allegation that there are racist elements in the Tea Party.........so I'm wondering if the Tea Party ever had anything to say about David Duke's message to them. I would suggest that there is very little "post racial" about the U.S. at this point.

Again with David Duke? Apparently you very quickly forgot that that is a video Duke made himself, as you were told in the other C-D thread, and the Tea Party has no interest in legitimizing Duke or his beliefs. No response necessary; Duke should remain ignored by all.

That's all they have and it's weak at best.

what a BS opinion piece since Obama never promised a post racial America! He never campaigned on racial issues but the far rightwing can't get enough of them as evidenced by the amount of threads related to race on City Data!

The Tea Party should indeed make a public statement that they do not support white nationalists beliefs, if, in fact, they do not. Saying nothing is a decision on the part of the Tea Party which could very easily lead people to question whether or not the Tea Party has white nationalist members..

Do you think it may be a real possibility that the people posting about attending Tea Party rallies on this white nationalist web site could have been the among the people who carried the racist signs sprinkled throughout Tea Party rallies? That could answer a lot of questions if we knew. It may also validate the NAACP's position that there are racist elements within the Tea Party.

Maybe Brietbart should have focused his attention elsewhere, other than Shirley Sherrod.

How about the link to a white nationalist web site where members are discussing attending the rallies? Do you suppose the Tea Party does have members who are white nationalists and therefore white racists?

Why? That implies that there is ambiguity on the issue. There's not. Never has been. I have no idea why you would even entertain such an idea. Shouldn't that myth have been more than dispelled in the following linked thread?
Does the Tea Party support any black candidates?

Well, there is the white nationalist web site where members are posting to each other that they plan to attend. Tea Party rallies and support the Tea Party. Where there is smoke there is usually fire, as they say.

April 15 Tea Party - Stormfront

This is something that the Tea Party SHOULD NOT BE SILENT ABOUT. Their silence gives credibility to the allegation that there are white racists in their party and that they don't care. Could it be that the Tea Party wants votes to gain political power and that it doesn't matter where those votes come from? I can't quite imagine the Democratic Party being silent if they received basically an endorsement from white nationalist David Duke.

In fact, the SILENCE on this issue by the Tea Party is far more indicative of ambiguity about who their members are than making a strong statement refusing support from David Duke and his white nationalist followers.

Then they can support Cedra Crenshaw, Lt. Col. Allen West, etc., etc., at the Tea Party rallies:
