Americans are growing more pessimistic about the economy and the war in Afghanistan, and are losing faith that Democrats have better solutions than Republicans, according to a new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll.
He's underwater on nearly every issue, race relations being a positive for him.

Health Care, Iraq, Afghanistan, the economy, government spending, deficit.

Surely we've heard of all the legislative success brought about by obama and the dems?

A new way to celebrate and brag about that success.

Democratic candidates ignore legislative successes - latimes.com

In an effort coordinated with the White House, congressional leaders are urging Democrats to focus less on bragging about what they have done — a landmark healthcare law, a sweeping overhaul of Wall Street regulation and other far-reaching policy changes — and more on efforts to fix the economy and on the perils of Republican control of Congress.
It must be because these "successes" are so very popular with the American people, right.......right?

Oh, this poll has a partisan edge of 9 points toward the democrats.

Why, that's a bigger number than what he won by in 2008. In this environment, does any sane individual think such a number is valid?

Maybe they needed that big of a chasm on party ID so prop up his approval number, but when you dig into the internals, it is bad news indeed.

I know. More bad news, just 2 1/2 months from the midterms.

Surely the pulse of the country concerns everyone.

I think you started yawning too soon. There's an absolute blizzard of polls just over the horizon. (Oh, wait, maybe you didn't. You'll be fast asleep by the time that blizzard hits, and it won't bother you at all).

This just in, people are dissatisfied with their government. Who is the figure head of said government, the President.

Give him a year, people will love him. Remember, Reagan had lower approval ratings at this point in his first term.

Oh, no, no, no. Obama HAD the goodwill of the electorate when he took office - 70% approval rating.

It is HIS policies and governance that the people are unhappy with, and anyone that goes along with the taxing, spending and expansion.

You rather conveniently skipped this part:

Quote:
The sour national mood appears all-encompassing and is dragging down ratings for the GOP too, suggesting voters above all are disenchanted with the political establishment in Washington. Just 24% express positive feelings about the Republican Party, a new low in the 21-year history of the Journal's survey.

That's why the link is there.

With a 9 point advantage, I'm not surprised.
