The Ground Zero mosque debate is garnering increased attention in the world press, with Muslims coming down on both sides of the proposed center two blocks from the former World Trade Center.
“Muslims do not aspire for a mosque next to the September 11 cemetery,” Mr. Al-Rashed wrote. He added that "the mosque is not an issue for Muslims, and they have not heard of it until the shouting became loud between the supporters and the objectors, which is mostly an argument between non-Muslim US citizens!"
Shakib Bin-Makhlouf, president of the Federation of Islamic Organizations in Europe, told Arab News (http://arabnews.com/middleeast/article104957.ece - broken link) that he supports the proposed Islamic center and appreciated President Obama coming out in support of it. “Islam has nothing to do with the events that happened on 9/11,” Mr. Bin-Makhlouf told the agency. “Unfortunately, the media has contributed in tying terrorism to Islam. When a non-Muslim commits an act of terror, no one refers to his religion.” (he apparently does not pay attention to Christian bashing then)

Except the attacks were done in the name of Allah...when you shout akbar, akbar..or atchoo..or whatever it is that they shout right before they slice your head off...it is hard not to call this a fanatical religious based violent movement. Muslims stand up and call your newspapers and take to the streets and denounce these radicals..it is the only way we will believe you and find you credible...

Maybe the New Cordoba Mosque will have room for a Friday night Islam comedy club. It can be come as you are, right after prayers. 'I'll have a shot of double boiled sweet tea, please...', as jokes begin about the Iran Air Flight 744 to Venezuela.

In the end it might just be settle in thier trying to actaully get it built which will not be easy in a union dominated area like new york city. Remmeebr that many of those same people dug the bodies out of the two world trade buildings in 2001.

It sure would be difficult to build a building without union labor. I mean, the teamsters to get the supplies to the site, the steel workers, the carpenters, the electicians, ect..... This is where true "consolidation" needs to come into action. Maybe they'll bring in Saudi workers to build it. Gotta make sure it is up to code then.
