This shouldn't be a condemnation of Bush, as much as it should be a condemnation of big government. Katrina and the recent oil spill fiasco are percect examples of too many layers of government. Big government often fails, but we keep relying on it... It's a shame.

Whats a shame is how easy it is to brainwash people.
I wonder how many more years we're going to have to hear about New Orleans & Katrina.
It was disater. Bush didn't handle it well. They're slowly rebuilding.
We get it.
We didn't hear about south Florida constantly for five years after Andrew leveled it back in the early 90's.
Enough.
No, you don't get it. Let's compare:
Quote:
Forty-three deaths were blamed on Andrew in the United States. It destroyed 126,000 homes, left 180,000 people homeless and wiped out 80 percent of the area's farms.
Katrina was the most destructive and costly natural disaster (http://us.rd.yahoo.com/dailynews/news/ynews/ts_ynews/storytext/ynews_ts3464/37332504/*http://news.yahoo.com/s/livescience/ahistoryofdestruction8greathurricanes - broken link) in U.S. history, according to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The National Hurricane Center (NHC) reported that the Category 5 hurricane killed a total of 1,833 people across five states, damaged more than 420,000 houses, and forced 1.2 million people to evacuate their homes.

Or the even more recent Hurricane that wiped out Galveston TX.
