An idea from this thread: https://www.city-data.com/forum/polit...ervatives.html

Please be honest. Last choice was truncated, it's fix a leaky copper pipe that requires soldering.

This poll won't work if you can do one or two of those things. For example, I HAVE changed a tire before, but I had help. I don't know what that bolt thing is all about. I don't own a soldering gun.

I'm a republican. But I'm also a delicate flower of a woman. LOL.

You have to be able to do all three.

#1 " Damn right! cousin' jimmy bob and cousin' bobby jimmy can fix anything! Give us a case of coors light and a few pucks of dip and we'll have the swampers changed on your truck and leaky pipes from your double wide fixed in not time. Yeeeeeeeee haaaaaaa!"

#2 " Ewwww god no. The thought of touching anything past the gas nozzle at the station makes me sick. I hate that full service gas stations are gone, but i'll deal with having to use the handi-wipes next to the pump."

#3 " Of course. I've been trained and worked in the field for years. I take pride in my work and there's nothing better than the true american way, getting your hands dirty in a job well done."

#4 " Not sure who i would choose to have that work done,.."

We can assume you can't do any of them? These are all simple tasks except for maybe the second choice, I learned to do these as a kid. Do you think it's so bad I can fix a sink and you have to pay someone $75 just to show up?

You do realize you can be intelligent and still perform these things, is it beneath you? I'd be happy to compare standardized testing scores or skills with anyone. Ever build an arch? I did...

Your cost: $2000 maybe?

My cost: 1 day and $100.

Are you seriously trying to see if there's a correlation between what party someone votes for and their ability to change a tire?

If you're looking for a correlation, I'd say you have much better luck comparing gender to the ability to change a tire. Despite all the equality of the sexes talk, it still holds that most men are taught how to change a tire and most women aren't.

An argument could be made that there is no such thing as an "independant" democrat, just from this thread, and that post alone.

But I too, cannot vote for the same reason.

YC.......
