Just curious.

I'm wondering if those conservatives on this forum would vote for him again in a head to head match with Kerry or just stay home.

I mean Bush v. Kerry with no Independent running.

That really wouldn't make a difference. I take responsibility for myself, preferring not to depend upon any government.

And what, John Kerry would have done better? I think it is the responsibility of the city and state to first address emergencies, and Nagan and Blanco did quite the bang up job, didn't they?

Think I've mentioned it before, but just in case. I'm VERY Republican (but I guess not so much Neo-Con). I voted for Bush in '00 and actually went against a LOT that I stand for in '04 and voted for Kerry.

Now if you want an "In hindsight" from me, I'll say I'd have voted for Gore in '00 knowing what I know now. He was a much better candidate than Kerry ever could have been (not that that's saying much), and I wish I could go back to see how world affairs would change with Gore having been President.

That is an illusion.

I didn't vote in 2004 because it was a lose/lose election. I voted for Bush in 2000 and wish I could take that vote back.

Well, if you mean do I think Kerry would have attended a fund raiser in Arkansas and played guitar while people were screaming into their cameras for help? Then yes, I do believe he would have, in a very Clinton way, returned from whatever vacation he was on at the time and been on the ground to make sure that people were taken care of.

I also don't think he would have had to have a DVD made for him with different snippets from news casts in order to "catch up" on the horrors that were occurring that each of us were watching in real time on a daily basis.

This guy is so completely out of touch that I am surprised anyone can defend him on this.

As to your point - yes - as a native Floridian I know a little bit about hurricanes and response times. The state and locals do have their parts to play, but there have been MANY horrific hurricanes in our history and the government has NEVER allowed something this horrible to happen.

100% Yes I would vote for Bush again head to head against any democrat from 2000,2004 or now
