And honestly? I don't think the "moderates" are going to be attacking us anyway.
Thinking is nice, but are you willing to risk lives on your hunch? The reaction is "friendly" areas where our troops are operating have already demonstrated increased hostilities on simply the threat of burning the Qu'ran.
These aren't members of the Taliban, they are the folks that we are trying to keep from joining and even fighting them.

I guess that just proves my thought that there really are no "moderates" in islam---there are extremists (the devout ones) and the squishy ones that just don't care.
I didn't agree with this but wanted to find out his reasons. As the story unfolded we find he has been a minister for 40 years and was on the verge of bankruptcy with only 30 followers in his church.
This is the only way he can get money- finding some rich fanatics and they are out there.
Have you interviewed him? Did he tell you that was his motivation? Or is that just your uninformed theory?
Book burning is pretty stupid. You who cheer it on are pretty stupid also.
Book burning is stupid, I agree. However, maybe some of the senior citizens posting here can tell me if Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower ever requested of American people not to burn Mien Kemp during WWII?

No more extremist than some Christian minister hell bent on making some useless and pointless gesture from the comfort of his Florida home while some kid serving in the military has to pay the price for his narcissism.

Except that typically Christians don't strap bombs to their chests and visit the crowded bus stop, or take over airplanes and fly them into skyscrapers.
Almost unanimous is the outcry from Christians around the world and here at home against this idiot and his attention seeking ploy of burning a book considered holy by millions. His vicious publicity stunt is unChristian, unAmerican, and unPatriotic. He is endangering our troops, making America look ugly throughout the world, and displaying the same type of ignorance as that shown by those who perpetuated 9/11 in the first place. He and his type are no different than the terrorist who would destroy all with which they disagree.
I do defend the burners of the Koran. But that is not the same as saying I admire them for doing so, or endorse the logic through which they arrived at their tactic.
Flag-burners during the Vietnam war had an objective in mind---to show their collective resolve to get our troops and war-profiteers out of Vietnam, for the common good of all people everywhere. In retrospect, that objective had merit, and in fact prevailed in the end. I would challenge the Koran-burners to explain a similarly noble objective that these august visionaries might have in mind.
Using the preposterous rationalization of "protecting our troops" is just another brick in he impending prison of sedition laws
Actually during the Vietnam era you burned something a little more to the point. You burned either your Draft Card or your Notice of Induction from the Selective Service Administration. Greetings ...
Good question - do you think that we have possibly sunk to the level of our Leadership? We have the most divisive President that I can remember in the last 50 years aided by a media that promotes that divisiveness.
When are people going to put a stop to this stuff by denouncing ALL of them?
