What part of this is difficult for you to understand? the guy acted correctly. even with restraint.

There are more than a few of us who would have let the cops identify 20 MS13 corpses. This dude was really nice.
Nothing is difficult for me to understand, Ferd. Bullets ricochet, and responsible gun owners know this. If he had shot these people, and they were unarmed, guess what, multiple murder counts.

Sorry, he was exhibiting irresponsible behavior, and the police officers were doing their jobs.

I wonder if those wanting to convict this guy for very restrained behavior when faced with 20+ MS-13 gang members trespassing and yelling death threats to him and his family are really MS-13 gang members? Or, at the least, gang-member sympathizers? Perhaps they think freedom of speech covers trespassing and death threats while ignoring the second amendement?

The 2nd amendment is not in question, here. The guy pulled off a few rounds in a residential neighborhood. Look up the laws.

And, yes, bullets ricochet off the ground, they even ricochet off water if the angle is right.

I haven't seen anyone cite any law concerning this. If he was on his own property and the bullet stayed on his property, I doubt he was breaking the law. It was also after receiving a death threat from known gang members congregating near his property. I do see a lot of armchair quarterbacking from you.

Magic bullets.

While I agree you should have the right to use force to defend your family and property, this guy's whole story sounds fishy to me.

Quote:
Grier said the five men dared him to use the gun; and that their shouts brought another larger group of gang members in front of his house.
“He starts threatening my family, my life. ‘Oh you’re dead. I’m gonna kill your family and your babies. You’re dead.’ So when he says that, 20 others guys come rushing around the corner.
So, he was facing 25 guys...come on

Anyway, most urban areas have laws prohibiting the discharge of weapons..If he doesn't like it, move to the country.

Agreed the laws in Texas are entirely different. There you have to right to defend yourself, your family and your property if you determine that your life is threatened. It's not unusual to read about home invaders getting killed for entering a home and finding out the resident is armed with a firearm and knows how to use it.

The mistake unfortunately this guy made was he fired the first shots. If he had been fired upon or if one of these gang members entered his home then he had the right to defend himself.

Under national socialism (voluntary), there is no private property. Ergo, no "right" to defend it with deadly force.
On the other hand, if he was a non-socialist, non-resident, free inhabitant, domiciled (not residing) at that location, he would have the inalienable right to defend his life and private property with deadly force. (Common law right).

Welcome to the Collective, Comrades...

Gangs, especially MS-13 are a blight on our society. There ought to be a $1000 bounty for each gang member killed, no questions asked. These gang bangers don't respect the law, private property rights, or the lives of anyone. There is no reason we should suffer their continued existence within our communities.

Had he waited for the gang members to pull out weapons, he likely wouldn't have had the opportunity to even fire the warning shots, much less shoot anyone. And he fired those shots KNOWING that they would be picked up on this technology they have in that area and that the cops would be there within minutes.
This is a classic case which should urge you, and others, to reconsider their overall stance on firearms.

Imagine what might have happened had this man NOT had a weapon? The stats show that over a Million violent crimes are prevented by gun owners annually ... more than police actually prevent ... because police tend to arrive AFTER a crime has been committed.

What everyone needs to recognize is how important it is to constantly reinforce the fundamental right of self defense, with firearms being the most effective means to do so. And, that the greatest threat to one's own personal safety seems not to come from criminal elements any longer, but of the threats posed by laws and the misplaced support of them that prevent or attempt to prevent the common citizen from defending themselves against criminal threats.

The very fact that this man was arrested for the proper use of a firearm ... that being a deterrent ... just illustrates this point all too clearly.

And this isn't an isolated case ... but if you want to know why we must fight this insanity .. take a close look at the UK, where it is illegal to own firearms.

In the UK, over 50% of home invasion and burglaries occur at times when the homeowners are at home, compared to less than 15% in the US. Why? Because the criminals in the UK have no fear of armed resistance ... while the criminals in the US understand that they're likely to have their lawless rear ends shot off if they do it while people are at home.

In London, you are 6 times more likely to be a victim of a mugging, as compared to major US cities.

On the other hand, in Switzerland, gun crime statistics are so low ...( the lowest in the World), because almost everyone has firearms ... and the government even provides it's citizens firearm training.
