If these publicity hounds were serious about making a statement about radical Islam, why aren't burning actual terrorists leaders such as Osama bin Laden in effigy? Why burn a book that peaceful Muslims revere? I'm beginning to think that it's a right wing conspiracy to throw out this red herring before an election.

It is unusual. But not all unusual things make people freaks, lol.

I think that terrorist attacks and beheading people and honor killings are freaky. Not burning some book of fairy tales.

Now that's an idea.

UPDATE:

Quote:
He said to call him, so we did.

As they stood outside the Dove World Outreach Center in Gainesville, Paul said he and Jones want New York-based Imam Feisel Rauf to call them by 3:20 p.m. today. The two want Rauf to say whether an Islamic center planned for a location near the site of the Sept. 11 attacks would be moved to another site.

Paul called his request to Imam Feisel Rauf “a challenge” and said he and Jones were giving Rauf two hours to respond or to agree to meet with them tomorrow.

I got to see the press conference live here in the UK. Doesn't look like the Imam is going to call, so Quran burning ,might be back on.

The Koran burning is in defiance to the mosque in NYC. The Imam told the pastor yesterday that they would move the location if the book burning would be called off. The pastor agreed to stop the burning. Then the Imam said he wouldn't move the location and made the veiled threat that our troops would be in danger if the Koran was burned.

Not too sure I would say its the pastor that is freaky. He does have freedom of speech in this country. And as far as the mosque being constructed to bridge the gap between the US and Muslims....offering violence as a consequence of not getting his way doesn't bridge too many gaps for me. The pastor may be freaky but the Imam is scary.

They burn bibles all the time but Christions never react with violence to that.
Are you saying Islam is inferior to Christianity?
