You need to see his show on HBO, it is excellent, it is called "Real Time" and every week (during the season, coming soon) he has on a panel of guests, usually two liberals and one conservative. The conservative nevers gets talked over and is shown respect by everyone, and the conversation is explicit and wide open, unlike ANY you will see on network television. At the end is a segment called "New Rules" which is his take on life, and its hilarious, the rest of the show concentrates on serious discussion of the issues unlike anything else you hear on television.

HBO: Real Time with Bill Maher: Homepage

Hate speech? How so??
Quote:
In law, hate speech is any speech, gesture or conduct, writing, or display which is forbidden because it may incite violence or prejudicial action against or by a protected individual or group, or because it disparages or intimidates a protected individual or group.
Maher is inciting to laugh, not to commit acts of violence.
The man is a comedian, not a demagogue.
No one takes Maher seriously or looks to him for the "truth" - nor would he want them to.
Maher has an audience, not a following.
Maher's fans do not hang on his every word, they realize he is an entertainer, not an expert.

Yea, its hate alright, hatred of those who lie to start wars, hatred of those who make billions and billions every year while causing climate change, hatred of foolish people who are so stupid they can be convinced to protest against healthcare reform.

Many thinking people share his hatred, myself included. Good thing he is a funny guy or I'd walk around angry all day like a conservative.

1. Healthcare reform will not save us money, as recently admitted by Obama
2. Obama's Medicare appointee said that Medicare rationing may be necessary to make the reform feasible
3. No one knew what was in the bill, not even the chief author, Max Baucus. As Nancy Pelosi said, we need to pass the bill to see what's in it.
4. How is regulating the health care industry so that a couple of insurance companies benefit from being on the Federal Exchange good health care? Sounds like cronyism to me.

Liberals think? That's a new one Usually all I ever hear from them is, you're a bigot, we must bend over backwards and take it up you know what to the Muslims, and that we must be open-minded and tolerant. Let's make rape jokes about Sarah Palin's daughter!

So odanny, step away from the kool-aid. Don't worry, the withdrawal won't be as painful as you might think

There's a HUGE difference between Bill Maher's intelligent truths and Rush Limbaugh's idiotic rants.
