A colossally BAD idea with colossally BAD results....that was predicted.
Per CBO (same agency the GOP said was the Bible for scoring Health Care) the Stim Saved or Created 3,000,000 jobs.
Before Mr. Obama caved (Or did he? Did he perhaps not want it to be too sucessful?) and made it mainly about tax cuts to the biz community, it was designed to save or create 4-5,000,000,000 jobs.
And is this jobs bill to continue paying for all those new/saved jobs previously created ?
Figure they must be government jobs because private employers are still laying off.

Oh god, please! There is NO way to quantify a "saved" job. It is just more smoke and mirrors and propaganda from obama. We have LOST 4 MILLION jobs since his election.
NO ONE believes those BS numbers, least of all the public.

When Dubya was in his final days; when Obama came in, we were losing 700,000 jobs per month.
Most of the directly saved jobs are in the Auto Industry, and Teaching; the Auto ones are self-sustaining regarding pay. Teaching, of course, is a public-funded job now, as it always has been.
Most of the created jobs are in the Construction Sector. That was under the 'Infrastructure' part of the program.
It might interest you to know that Obama's people (Summers, Emanuel) viewed Infrastructure as an unimportant throw-away- a bargaining chip- as it did not directly help Wall Street.

Tell that to the GOP. They used the CBO (which is non-partisan) as the Bible on a number of programs- Democratic ones, of course. Republicans killed 'Pay as You Go' when they were in power, because ALL their programs added to the deficit, and were by design not paid for.
You may not like the fact that 3,000,000 jobs were either saved or created, but it is just that: a fact.
"A report by the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office shows the Recovery Act has increased the number of workers by between 1.2 million and 2.8 million. The CBO also projects that 3.7 million jobs could be attributed to the stimulus by the end of September."
It helps to use something other than Fox as a info source.
Heck a Daycare in Fla used Stimulus money to give employees raises and they claimed that was jobs saved. Ignore that they werent being terminated to start with.

Last month 71,000 private sector jobs were created; the reason why the negative 131,000 number is valid is due to government jobs (mainly Census temp workers) being lost.
Now, here's the real truth re: jobs:
It takes approx. 170,000 jobs being created per month (full time ones) just to satisfy new seekers coming into to the economy.
We have not had those kind of numbers since the Clinton Admin.
Which is why the real- like the 30's Depression- the groundwork for this one was laid years ago.
And why, another CCC/WPA will be needed to climb out of this deadly chasm.
