"...the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office released a report in August that said the stimulus bill has "[l]owered the unemployment rate by between 0.7 percentage points and 1.8 percentage points" and '[i]ncreased the number of people employed by between 1.4 million and 3.3 million.'

"Simply put, more people would be unemployed if not for the stimulus bill. The exact number of jobs created and saved is difficult to estimate, but nonpartisan economists say there’s no doubt that the number is positive."

The left wingers know they are toast and will twist and turn everything thinking that no one will catch their spin.

Sorry, it is too late to make up stuff.

Everyone knows that Obama and this dem controlled congress has failed and made everything worse.

Everyone knows that Obama used the stimulus and still has lost 9 million jobs.

Everyone knows he promised to create 5 million NEW high paying green jobs and has not delivered.

Everyone knows he is creating tons of government census type jobs that the temporary to try to scam the American people into thinking he is creating jobs.

There is nothing the dems can do to save their butts now.

3 1/2 years of control and look at the mess they have put us in.

The end of liberals running things is getting closer and closer thanks to the gift of Obama and the worse congress in American history.

The real party of Hell No is going to be the party of bye bye soon.

The "right wingers" don't deal with facts. It doesn't serve their purposes.

The fact is that there is no "magic pill" that will fix what took YEARS to accomplish... and, again, WHO was in charge during that time?

It will take even longer now that the current admin put us way deeper into the hole.

Are you talking about the jobs "saved" for federal workers, subsidized by the taxpayer, about to go bye-bye?

http://www.nytimes.com/2010/09/26/us...s.html?_r=1&hp

Quote:
Tens of thousands of people will lose their jobs within weeks unless Congress extends one of the more effective job-creating programs in the $787 billion stimulus act: a $1 billion New Deal-style program that directly paid the salaries of unemployed people so they could get jobs in government, at nonprofit organizations and at many small businesses.
Translation: the jobs should have been cut in the first place, there is no demand for the jobs to continue and now, after being "saved" for a year, they are going bye-bye.

If the obama's program actually worked, we wouldn't be hearing about these job losses, because the jobs would "make it" on their own, instead of being falsely propped up by the feds.

Yeah... they could have done nothing and let our country fall into something much worse than the Great Depression.

Yep. Let the banks fail and let all those people lose their houses. Then, of course, we should cut taxes for the rich.

All the people that lost their jobs due to eight years of Republican "leadership" should just be allowed to starve to death. That will fix the problem.

After all... it's all about the American free market. If you happen to be among the ones who don't make it then there will be more left for the rest of us...

Right. That's the answer!

Right. That's the answer!

1... So throwing more bad money on top is a good thing? I guess you think that if you're in credit card debt the best way out is to spend even more!

2...Both the banks and those who were dumb enough to take out sub prime mortgages should've failed! Why should we taxpayers have to keep paying for stupidity!

3...Please provide PROOF that it was the 8 years of the Republican leadership for the reasons people lost their jobs.Maybe it was because of NAFTA,you remember the president who started that,uhem...CLINTON!

Also remember what sector caused this recession/depression...FINANCE. Who was in charge of financials....DODD & FRANK!

January 3rd, 2007 was the day that Barney Frank took over the House
Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd took over the Senate Banking Committee.

Would you like to try again?

EXACTLY

If the stimulus had worked there wouldn't be any need for more stimulus money!

Also, the UE numbers don't include all those people who basically gave up looking for work and the temporary census workers who are now gone. Add those in and the REAL UE numbers are closer to 19%!

880 BILLION dollars, or isn't that relevant to the discussion? We got more bang for our bucks when we supplemented car purchases.
