Had it been a voting booth in dearborn and some christian was holding bacon near muslim voters, the left would not only pursue it as intimidation, but also as a hate crime. Bacon isn't even a weapon.
This tired old story again...how many threads do you want on this? Charges were not brought because of lack of evidence. That's in your article.
"Far from acting recklessly, the Justice Department did what every law enforcement entity is ethically obligated to do: press only those charges that are supported by evidence."
Can you imagine they would say that had it been a white racist doing that?
That it was proper to not pursue the case?
They would not only be calling for his head, but also for the DOJ official's head for not pursuing it.
Seems the only way a black man could be held accountable for voter intimidation would be if started running around beating people with his club. apparently, yelling racial slurs and using a club in a threatening way is not enough.
Tired old story? You libs have some nerve. If this was the Bush administration you people would be screaming for his impeachment.
This is the worst abuse of power possible, and leaves people wondering if they are safe from the predations of the DOJ. His testimony is powerful because he is a hardcore lib deeply upset by the actions of a DOJ determined to only enforce voters rights only for minorities.

Your so right! If this was Bush, people would be up in arms about it, they would be screaming, we would be hearing things about it every day. Is this fair HEK NO, not to me. This President seems to get too many free passes, one too many.
If this had been 2 members of the KKK in that neighborhood then the liberals would have screamed and protested until the Federal government had them sentenced them to life in prison at ADX Florence.
But of course because only White people can be racist and commit crimes such as voter intimidation then the New Black Panthers are automatically innocent, and nevermind the fact that the NBPP seeks to eliminate the White race and establish a Black supremacist ruled United States.

From the OP's link:
"But even Mr. Coates did not offer specific evidence that the department acted improperly."
By the way, he also had issues with the Bush DOJ:
"Justice Department attorney Christopher Coates testified today that the Bush-era DOJ ignored his recommendation to investigate allegations that armed agents in Mississippi intimidated black voters."
