The best part of that video was the woman saying that thousands of people attended the Beck (rally on their own, my words not hers) and tens of thousands attended last weekend's debacle. Whoever wrote her script managed to twist the numbers a bit or maybe the pictures of the two groups just don't tell us anything.
When will they realize that unions more or less forced the people they bused in to attend and who knows about the far left groups and how they got there.
Did you notice how many old people were in that group? I guess you need to be young to be fooled by a socialist.
It's because older people have seen Central Europe, Cuba, Mao's China, and the Soviet Union all fail. Younger people see the relatively tiny epoch of Euro-socialism in W. Europe and Scandanavia and mark it off as a "success", even though these countries are slowly shifting away from that paradigm or going broke as a result of it. Additionally, modern social studies textbooks shine a brighter light on countries like the Soviet Union. My recent dating experiences (prior to becoming engaged) with elementary and middle school teachers have allowed me to gather a peek into what today's children are learning. Most of the literature paints the picture of a more benevolent Soviet governmental structure and focuses on our trade relations with them in the 80's.
One of the myths shared among the youthful socialists is that a more modern and benign form of socialism can co-exist with capitalism and they point to that tiny epoch of post WW2 France/W. Germany/UK as a demonstration of that. Of course, Euro-socialism didn't really take hold under MANY years after WW2 so the period under observation becomes much smaller.

All the countries listed were centralized economies Communism. The socialist countries have not and will not fail because they distribute the wealth and invest in higher efficiency for everyone. Even the very wealthy win in Scandinavia.

What would you prefer? Having different scales of wealth among the populace, or having everyone equally poor?
Those are not the only choices, in fact those are not the real choices according to Constitution. A representative democracy without corporatist rule gives the People all the power, NOT the corporatists.
