The lawyers muted Glennie to protect Fox, and it's pretty obvious that others there at Fox have had to tone it down, learn to get the message across in legally unassailable ways. (I'd love to see written guidelines for this.) Rush Limbaugh also is always careful this way. But there was that radio guy who just recently went to jail for -- something -- calling for some local judges to be killed? I dont know what the legal precedent is, someone committing a crime and being acquitted, saying he was under the influence of a powerful persuader. But that atmosphere has never been as intense as it is now.
Expect a reference to the Charles Manson case to come up during proceedings.

I agree! It's been a long time since people have been this worked up. But I can't say that I can remember when returning war vets were being put on watch lists and please don't overlook all the hate speach thrown at the Tea Party.

It's a shame when some are so willing to stifle free speech because they don't agree.

It's stupid to keep moaning "the lefties" like Benjy Compson. Do you think that this guy is setting up a case to blame the atmosphere generated by Beck, Limbaugh, Hannity and so on for his actions? A kind of much more serious Twinkie defense? If he is, or if this happens again and someone does try that approach, what will be the verdict of his peers? If he's acquitted for that reason would he in turn sue Fox, whoever she is? What would that do to the style guidelines at talk radio and TV?

It's not a "lefty" issue.

Sure its a lefty issue, I think this guy is irrelevent. I can't believe he is the lef'ts poster boy. They have their panties in a wad because Beck is influential and they are afraid of him they wil do what they can to smear him. They will trot out any silliness.

Well anything to do with Glenn Beck is bound to have stupidity, ignorance, and fear, that's his trademark.

Lol, he's not "the left's poster boy." He's media lawyers' poster boy. Wake up. Nothing to do with the left.
