Wall St. Made More Money In 2.5 Years Of Obama Than 8 Years Of Bush

Quote:
Mika Brzezinski, MSNBC's "Morning Joe": "New government data shows profits for America's largest financial firms are once again reaching record highs not seen sense before the financial crisis of 2008. In fact, Wall Street firms have earned more in the first two and a half years of the Obama presidency than all 8 years of the Bush presidency. Over 85 billion dollars in profits compared to 77 billion."

Joe Scarborough: "Wait -- you mean in the first two years they made more than in eight years than in the Bush administration?"

Brzezinski: "That's correct."

Scarborough: “Well, their campaign contributions paid off very well for them then.”

Wall Street Traders Have Profited More Under Obama Than In Eight Years Under Bush

Quote:
The relatively quick recovery on Wall Street has been bolstered not only by the policies of Washington politicians, but by questionable business practices. Banks have begun profiting off public goods such as unemployment benefits and food stamps, issuing those benefits to unemployed, impoverished Americans on debit cards that carry heavy fees. Cash-strapped state governments, meanwhile, have addressed budget shortfalls by shifting pension plans to Wall Street-run private accounts, further boosting the banks’ bottom lines.

Why would I? Bush and Obama both answer to the Federal Reserve.

It seemed like it took awhile for anyone to even open the thread.

Many Occupiers claim that Wall Street received special treatment. That those who caused the financial meltdown deserve to be tarred and feathered. Yet when actual names are named, liberals go silent when they realize that the evil corruption they rail against can be located in the political mirror.
Occupy Wall Street, Jon Corzine, and other failed human beings

Quote:
Mr. Corzine is everything the left should despise, if only rational thought and logical reasoning were part of their intellectual calculus.

Mr. Corzine was the Chairman of Goldman Sachs until he was fired. This billionaire Wall Street executive then decided that he was a Socialist, and that he would foist his “progressive” agenda on New Jersey. He became the governor, and his reign of error was one corruption scandal after another.

He was caught driving 91 mph when he was involved in a car crash. That resulted in injuries. He was not punished.

...
His failure as a political leader led to his being named the head of MF Global. This guy may be the luckiest executive since Dilbert’s boss. He keeps bungling his way higher.

So what has happened since MF Global took over? Naturally Mr. Corzine has played a major role in leading it down the road to ruin and possibly creating another financial crisis.
The article also mentions....
Chris Dodd
Barney Frank
Franklin Raines of Fannie Mae
George Soros
Timothy Geithner
Claire McCaskill
Charles Rangel
Kathlees Sebelius
Hillary and Bill “Whitewater” Clinton

No. This is an article about how people pay fees that they don't have to pay, and make the banks richer in the process. I almost said stupid people. Maybe ignorant is the better word. OWS isn't protesting ignorant people.
:

I was on unemployment for a time. I had to use the Citbank debit card at a Citibank ATm to avoid the ATM withdrawal fee. Which went like this.

Fill out online form.
Get paid every two weeks.
Go to Target.
Put card in ATM.
Pull out all my cash in 20's.
Stuff cash in pocket.
Take cash to home/or put in bank.

From one of the links buried in the article:

Even consumers using them to access their privately earned money may be charged for buying the cards, swiping the cards, and withdrawing money. And people getting benefits through them aren’t any exception: they face charges for withdrawing money too many times, using an out-of-network ATM, drawing more money than is in the account, leaving the card inactive for a certain period of time, and some even charge per purchase.

I never bought a card. Colorado/Citibank issues the card. You get it in the mail. You get your PIN a day or two later.

If you use the card like a debit card and don't think about the fees associated with it, and you're on unemployment, which barely pays for SQUAT, you're an idiot.

If you withdraw money too many times, you're an idiot. The card comes with documentation describing the fees. Sorry you didn't trouble yourself to read it. Or understand it. Or try to draw $500 out of a $400 account. Dude, you can't fix stupid, OK?

If you use an out of network ATM, well yeah, if you can't get to one, because you just can't, I can understand that. So you'll lose 2 dollars or so to withdraw your money. OR you can just have them direct deposit it to your account IF you have an account. Otherwise, if you're just using the local ATM because you can't be bothered to go a few blocks over, it's your money, blow it however you like. The banks don't care. They like people who do things like this. It just makes 'em richer. In fact, they depend on people being sloppy with money.

JUST LIKE THE HOUSING CRISIS.

If you think it is the fault of one party you haven't been paying attention.
