Obama Acts to Investigate U.S. - China Trade Absurdity

Scott Paul

Executive Director, Alliance for American Manufacturing
Posted: October 16, 2010 03:49 PM

"All praise from here for President Obama's courageous decision Friday to proceed with an investigation of China's opportunistic and illegal trade practices in the clean energy sector. Those of us dedicated to supporting U.S. workers, U.S. jobs and U.S. manufacturing owe him an enormous debt of gratitude. ..."

Do you really thnik thsi is anyhting other than rethoric to quiten the madden crowd. It was just a couple of months ago he sent Geithner to china to get assurance from them that they would continue to hold our debt in treasuries. It clearly just a matter of the election and nothing else. There is no way we could act aginst them without causing ourselfs a crisises.China is now holding all the cards and they are A's.

RHETORIC... RHETORIC... ELECTION CYCLE RHETORIC... I remember we hated the undervalued Yuan... guess what? Nada... China is more powerful than the US and any attempt by the US to do something about it will result in failure and worldwide EMBARRASSMENT... safe to say, it is just RHETORIC... we aren't going to do anything... it was a good laugh though... what the heck, everyone's got time to waste...

Obama is going to TRY, better than NOT trying. The results for TRYING could be failure or more American jobs. The results for NOT trying will be an automatic failure.

Scott Paul: Obama Acts to Investigate U.S. - China Trade Absurdity

"...The Administration deserves a tremendous amount of credit for considering this case on its merits, rather than letting some overarching philosophy dictate the outcome. Demonstrating a willingness to challenge China's cheating could make a huge difference for American workers and businesses in the clean energy manufacturing sector. And if the Administration's efforts with China are successful, the ultimate result will be more American jobs...."

No he isn't... anytime u hear the word "investigating" from the government ... it means they are going to do NOTHING... its like me saying the check is in the mail... don't believe it... believe actual REAL actions... not half-hearted attempts to do nothing... what is he going to do? 50 cent tariffs after the investigation? Ohhh... that's going to make China tear up... from laughing...

Yep. The timing is too convenient. I'd be surprised if this is anything more than smoke & mirrors, dog & pony show. He's had nearly two years to do this. He didn't have to send green energy stimulus funds to China but he did. Now he's going to investigate?

Kill the investigation before it begins?
What are your realistic solutions then?
