Do you support the position of the Governors ? All Republicans so far. Twelve is the number mentioned.

Obama defended the decision, saying that "slamming the door in their (refugees') faces would be against our values."

Risking the lives of civilians at home are not against his values.

I believe the SC has already ruled that States cannot write their own immigration laws, so it does not matter if we support it or not.

Governors can't do anything about it but wave their arms in the air and hope to influence Obama. There is no gray area here. Obama has the legal authority to do what he wants with respect to admitting Syrians and relocating them around the country.

There is the rub. Most times presidents will talk a good game about evenly distributing them, but they typically let them stay in whatever local area they came into.

A perfect example was with the boat lifts Carter approved of from Cuba. While a token amount may have been taken elsewhere, the overwhelming majority stayed in S Florida, and you know the end result of that fiasco.
So if most are going to come into New Orleans, the people living there had better get use to all sorts of Mosques being built, because they are not going anywhere.

The states can just not go along, Obama violates laws, they can too.

They can throw them out and not fund them. They can do whatever they want in their states just like Obama does.

Jindal said he had signed an executive order telling state agencies to "take all available steps" to stop the intake of Syrian refugees. Obama rules by EO. Governors could do the same it appears.

Is the federal government the only one that provides aid and assistance or is it pushed off onto the state and local programs ?
Are the Governors just doing what politicians always do, just talking and making noise while doing nothing meaningful ?
