People should read the book or watch the movie "1984".

Its quite intresting especially since it was written in the 1950s.

I have BIG problems with scanners since I've got so much metal in my body. I've got shrapnel pieces, a couple of bullet fragments in my hip, metal knees and a mouth full of gold crowns that would never allow me to get near an airplane anymore.

The damn metal bothers me enough so I'm not gonna worry about flying anymore and put up with all the crap at the airports.

This is about a principle. Why should I be forced to expose my naked body to strangers?? Why should I accept that strangers run their hands over my body, touch my breasts or between my legs? Now I read that if I don't accept either choice I will be fined ( $10,000??)

Someone said that flying is a privilege. Why? This is a service like taxi, train or bus. For many of us airfare is the only option for travel due to distance and time. So, please stop saying: if you don't like it, do not fly!

Would you accept that taxi driver pat you down and search your belongings before you enter the taxi??

Default Cyber attack: A bigger threat than airlines

Maybe the government needs to focus our tax dollars into supposedly the largest threat to national security:

Ok so what if tomorrow the terrorists blow up an Amtrak train or a subway station full of people ( like they did in Spain) is the TSA going to take over and put scanners in all train stations? What if they fill up a van with explosives and let it go off in the middle of an interstate at rush hour? (again as it has been done in other countries) Are we going to be randomly stopped and searched when we are driving our car?
All these scenarios are possible since security in trains is zero and pretty much anybody could drive a car bomb into any building. The terrorist are laughing right now because we are in fear and when people are in fear they allow things like letting strangers see us naked and letting strangers touch our private parts all in the name of security.

I hate slippery-slope arguments, I REALLY do. But even I have to admit that I'm against these scanners just because I see them as the beginning of a slippery slope. I think the same can be said for most people. There are just too many different scenarios that haven't even been addressed yet to think that security would stop with these scanners.

The govt is way out of control. Fining someone 10k for refusing a scan & pat down is unbelievable.

Just my opnion. And I am very concerned, as a parent of teen age daughters, I don't think that naked pictures of my daughters is appropriate at all, and neither is a pat down appropriate for a twelve year odl girl. Not okay with this at all...It is child porn almost, and not far from child molestation. Not sure about my thoughts on air travel for my teen daughters now...
It is ok for Muslims.....How about OKC that act of terrosm was from white men so that kind of opens up the profile a bit

Frankly I am looking forward to shorter lines at the airport since so many folks are offended by having their picture taken or being padded down. Maybe I won't have to arrive 2 hours early anymore!
