The post I was responding to seemed to me like you have the same mindset as the other posters who are pro-UE. YOU came on here calling me and everyone else ignorant b/c we disagree with UE benefits being used the way they are. Like I said, I'm sorry for your problems and I wish you luck and good health. But you're not helping the situation by pointing the finger at us and saying we're mean people who should be laughed at b/c we think the majority of people on UE could find work if they just tried a little harder. Btw, you can likely get disability if you have cancer and are unable to work.

I live with my son & his family & I choose not to collect disability, we happen to be a family who helps each other out. I do all the chores & cooking & run the kids around to various activities etc.
I WANT to work, as do many of the now millions of Americans who are jobless.
I think those who have a chip on their shoulder concerning those who need to collect UE are very lucky in these hard times. If they don't see that & instead want to demonize ALL who need benefits because of the few who do WANT to collect & not work then, they are IGNORANT.

They have any of those Amish communes in SC? Certainly here in the US we have this particular brand of citizen called "Doomers". Generally ignorant of the way the world works, and marginalized by having only enough intellectual ability to compete with rice farmers in China, they have a raging desire to become "Amish", seem to relish the idea actually.
Of course, rather than actually DO that most just collect UE and sit around posting on internet forums about how the world (THE world, not THEIR world) will end when the benefits run out. Funny how they confuse the consequences of their own poor choices in life with everyone elses, but like I said, they are "particular".

If it were as easy as you say, post after post, there would be no UE problem. You have a poor opinion of your fellow human beings if you think everyone is out scamming the system, would rather sit on their duffs and collect UI than work, and worse.
Never once said EVERYONE. You know that.

Ahh, federal government borrows from society as well.. Social Security for example, us treasuries, bonds, devaluing the dollar which costs all of us money.. And even the money borrowed from the Chinese costs you money because it allows them to sell products cheaper than americans can, which puts americans out of work.. The fact that you think we live in a bubble isnt my fault but thanks for the humor.

5% versus 10%? Sounds like not only do the stats on lifetime income in exchange for the education come back to you, but so do the odds for staying employed in a downturn. Certainly the recent hiring I did wasn't for secretaries, bookkeepers or billing clerks.
U-6 unemployment is around 15% I believe,I try and use it rather than the fable that is the official figure....
But that still makes it a risky proposition to go into debt for an uncertain employment future....but life is risk.

Right, b/c I'm responsible for paying off this guy's debt, sending him on fishing trips, paying relocation expenses, etc.? Riiiiiiiiiiiiiight. He had no worries except for maybe how he was gonna cook his fish that night.
ETA: UE is so you can look for another job. So, this guy looked for a job for 2 out of the 10 months he rec'd UE, which means he was lying for the rest of the time and scamming the system. How disgusting, and for the kicker, he's proud of himself. And you want to tell me abuse doesn't happen.
