I think people are just lazier and complain more than they did in the old days.

It somehow excuses Skippy from having to fix it if we believe this one was worse.

What you think is irrelevant. The economic indicators point to it being the largest global contraction since the Great Depression, and that is a non-partisan issue.

Isnt this kind of a moot comparison? 1982 vs 2009. Kind of like saying would you rather be beaten by a 2x4 with nails on the end or a baseball bat with nails on the end. Both are awful. 1982 vs 2009... Both are awful. 1982 vs 2009 are evil twins.

It's some of both. This is a horrible recession, but I think our leadership is allowing too much laziness and not enough business-friendly policies to help us out of this hole. The entire globe is feeling it and it's basically all our fault. Slow-bama is just that. Slow. He hasn't helped us one bit. I don't want the gov't to be bailing anybody out, corporations or individuals. It doesn't give the example of personal responsibility, something that is sorely lacking in our society these days.

Maybe you need to go find the thread 15,000 vie for jobs at Valley McDonalds in the Work and Employment forum or look at the thread in this forum that discusses unemployment progression.

Maybe you should go help out at a charity and see the number of former middle class families now relying on charity just to feed their families.

Maybe you need to get to know someone who is unemployed instead of judging them all the time. If you bothered to do this one, you will find out that they are really struggling right now.
